Addressing the Bard

Robert Burns continues to inspire modern Scots writers.

In the Year of Homecoming, contemporary poets were asked to choose a poem by Burns and to write a new poem based on or inspired by the original.

The results were collected in a new anthology of poetry called Addressing the Bard, published to mark the 250th anniversary of Burns' birth.

This collection of twelve modern poems interprets Burns in new and often unexpected ways. Through humour, satire, celebration and sheer joy of language, Addressing the Bard is invaluable to all students of Burns' writing.
